AUS Press: Beware the crocodile, and the fine print {Excerpts}

Apr 19, 2005 09:11 AM

THE AGE (Melbourne, Australia) 18 April 05 Beware the crocodile, and the fine print (Bridie Smith){Excerpts}
You think insurance is expensive? Here's a bargain - for just $10, you can get a $50,000 cover against crocodile attack in the Northern Territory.
There, is, however, some fine print in the Territory Insurance Office policy: the payout is made only if you die from the attack within 30 days, and you must not be acting on a dare, a wager, or be attempting suicide.

"Specialist insurance companies will insure for you, for an appropriate premium, against any risk," Ms Wolthuizen said. "But consumers need to asses whether they actually need that type of protection."

"Was he sleeping with them?" asks Kroft. "Yes," says Hiaasen.
"That's a good one," says Kroft.
