Hi,
I currently keep two pacman frogs. In general, they are young and healthy. Both eat like there is no tomorrow and have shown no signs of illness. Yesterday, however, I checked both frogs after being gone for the weekend (3 days). The first frog I checked was perfectly fine (I actually watched him eat a cricket as soon as I turned on his light). When I checked the second frog though. I noticed a number of small maggots crawling around his substrate. When I removed the substrate around him to more carefully examine him, I saw about 20 maggots congregated on his lower back and hind legs. I quickly washed them all off and replaced all of the substrate in his cage. He seems fine overall, however there are two small patches on between his back and legs which have been worn raw (pink in color). He seems fine now that the maggots have been removed, but I was wondering what, if anything, I should do to treat the raw patches. These are my first two frogs so I have limited experience when it comes to dealing with amphibian health issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to loss this little guy. He has great color. I can be reached at gretzkyrh4@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Chris
