Introducing Luca

uromagnus Apr 19, 2005 03:41 PM

My new little guy arrived less then 2 hours ago. Took some pics but they are not the best. I was expecting him to run and hide for the next week after the trauma of shipping... instead he ate from my hand before he even left his shipping container. He has been very active and is exploring his new home since I put him in. He even sat in my hand when offered. Will see how it goes! He was worth the wait!

Hurrah, Mike!!!!! He's just a little beauty! Congratulations - you've waited a long time to get him, and he's totally been worth the wait, I'd say! Post lots and lots of pictures!

When Rocky came, he too ate from my hand and didn't run. If Luca follows suit, you're going to have a uro with a GREAT demeanor! Trusting and not easily stressed.

Congrats on a great looking uro.

Thanks everyone! Today we are bonding. I really want to weigh him but do not want to push my luck by picking him up and over to the scale yet. Maybe tomorrow when he first wakes up.

i dont know if its for all uros.. but my little guy is one hell of a heavy sleeper. if yours is too,you can probably get him on a scale when he's asleep without him even knowing hehe. its also that time that i clean up his enclosure and try and fix up things like basking sites to right temps.

What a beautiful ornate, certainly worth the wait. You can see the difference with not only the cb uros, but the ornates seem to be the easiest going. All of mine were friendly from the get go, and I don't think they were all cb. You will love the super easy going personality. Mine crawl right up my arm when I open the cage. I take them along to the pet shops all the time and they are "good will" ambassadors for the reptile community. People just flock to them and they just sit there enjoying all of the fuss. You won't be sorry you waited! Best of luck to you and congratulations. Keep posting those pics.

Thank you so much. He sure is a friendly little guy. My Magnus was a WC Macfad and he was very easy going also. I have just been lucky so far. Everytime he comes outta his hide he looks at me like "oh, you're here again, put that camera away - it scares me!" LOL
