Blind snake?

amelcorn Apr 19, 2005 08:42 PM

Caught this little fellow while doing some weeding today. Is this a blind snake? And if so what variety? I am in east central Florida. Caught under a piece of old shingle. Thanks.

That is a Brahminy Blindsnake, Rhamphotyphlops brahminus. It is also called a Flower-pot Snake. They are a south-east asian species that has been introduced to Florida.
