snake traps

ive heard of a few ways to trap a snake safely. I live in the high desrt in so cal and want to try and trap a cal king but want to find out the best way to do so without harming the snake. anyone have any good ideas that have worked before on trapin desert snakes? any info would be great. thanks Joey

The only "safe" way to get a snake would be to collect it the normay way. Seemingly safe traps can turn into death traps real quick. Especially in the desert.

I agree with you swwit!
Besides, living in southern Cal. you shouldn't have much of a problem finding the snake you're looking for. Maybe try road cruising a little further south in Riverside County.

I know this works along the coast...

Should work in the desert too. Put in a place it won't bother anyone and check it in the wintertime or early spring. In hot weather you may have to road cruise.

I believe it is illegal in CA to use "traps". Maybe it was just cetain kinds of traps, I forget.
