Yet Another Feeding Question...

phiber_optikx Apr 20, 2005 02:32 AM

Just a question about the rule of thumb. I fed my baby corn ysterday @ about 5 p.m. The rule of thumb says that once u can't see the lump after a day or two you can feed the 2 times a week correct? She ate a pink like 32 hours ago and I see no lump. Actually I could barely see the lump a few hours after she ate it. and I thought the pinkie wasa little large for her. She may just be chubby but seems healthy enough to me... Question 2 she took her first crap today... is this from the mouse yesterday? because she is new to me and yesterday was the first time I fed her. And the pet store had no idea when she last ate. (they just got her in) so is this from yesterdays meal or prior? Thanks. I know these are probably REALLY stupid questions I am just trying to figure out her schedule.

Most likely. 1 day is a bit short.

I'd give her a bigger prey. Perhaps from 1day old pinkies to 3day old pinkies. Try and see what works best.

I am more inclined to say feed it two pinkies at a time (once a week)as opposed to feeding it two times a week.
Some people feed hatchlings twice a week but I personally feed all of my snakes once a week.

I was always told it is healthier to feed 2 small/medium meals a week than feed 1 large meal... is this true?

In general it's not recommenden to feed less then 5 days apart. Though personally i think 7 days would be better.

How much to feed depends entirely on the animal. If he/she can handle it i'd say 1 big prey would be best.
