blueapplepaste Apr 20, 2005 10:48 AM

Just was wondering the frequency and how normal it is for corns to double clutch. Thanks.

They almost always (if healthy and well fed) double clutch. The 2nd cluth usually has a high percentage of bad eggs. Under-feeding after the first clutch is sometimes helpful in avoiding a 2nd clutch. A lot of keepers try to avoid double clutching, the theory being that the short period of under-feeding is much less taxing on the female than the double clutching would be.

BTW...don't sell females after they've had their first clutch...if they double clutch for the new owner, he'll be selling your babies.
