Do Diamond Caimen Crocs stop eating over winter?

pg_exotics Apr 20, 2005 05:08 PM

I have a Diamond Caimen Croc that hasn't eaten for me since Thanksgiving. He ate like a pig before thanksgiving and got real fat, but hasn't eaten since. I just figured he got real big before winter so he could have enough body fat to last through winter. But figured he would start up again by now. Let me know what I should do.

What are his ambient air temps, basking temps, and water temps? Is he handled frequently or do you allow him his peace and quiet? Stress, air temps, basking temps, and water temps are all contributing factors to a possible loss of appetite. Does he appear to be losing weight at all?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't have a diamond, but I have others and most of them stopped eating in a simular fashion. Watch it's tail, make sure it stays fat. Most likelt it will start to feed pretty soon. What part of the country do you live in? I am in the south (N. Ms). Mine went from aroun Nov. to late Feb. with no interest in food.
Hope this helps.
