Handling

LeoGeck Apr 20, 2005 06:59 PM

I hear (or read) on websites that its frowned upon to handle your gecko, due to the chance that the tail could fall off and it will cause him stress. Does anyone handle their gecko and have no problem with it? By the way I'm gettin my first ever gecko tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Handling is perfectly fine in moderation. I wouldn't keep my gecko out for an hour, but i make a point of handeling all my geckos, leopard and crested once a day, if only to make sure they are alright. My biggest, Anatole sits on my bed with me while i read sometime, but i always keep an eye on where he is. You do have to be careful around their tail, but it's not going to fall of if you just touch it's tail.
