Any RES breeders close to Visalia, CA. ??

msdabby Apr 21, 2005 12:10 AM

I am looking for another RES for my pond. I have 2 RES now but the smaller one hides maye because of the bigger one. I did have a medium size pond turtle in there as well that someone gave me but it died a week later. When it was here the smaller turtle came out lots more so I would like to find another medium size turtle to see how it goes. I know they have them at the pet store and flea mart but I would rather find a breeder if possible.
Thanks,
Debbie

Why not check with a chapter of the California Turtle and Tortoise Club to see if they have any for adoption? Or, check the classifieds of the newspaper or www.craigslist.com for free turtles.

With SO many needing new homes, why buy?

FYI, how big is the pond? Do you have a lot of visual breaks and hiding spots in there?

Thanks, I will have to try to check that way I guess. I have and raise birds so I figured maybe there are turtle breeders like we have in bird breeders ......somewhere out there :0)
Our pond is next to our patio and about the same size too. There is lots of hiding places, plants and rocks to sun in as well.
We have lived here for 6 months, my big RES is SO happy here. The little one is coming around but its real timid.
Thanks again,
Debbie
