Incubator Humidity-Please Help!

bpalaw21 Apr 21, 2005 03:50 AM

"Barbie" laid her very first clutch three days ago, 32 eggs, and I need ya'lls help badly! I have never bred dragons before and I have no idea how to raise the humidity in the incubator. I'm using a Hovabator Circulated Air Model #1583 with two inches of moist Vermiculite(I didn't know to put them in a container first), a small bowl of water in the corner, and none of the eggs are touching. My digital indoor/outdoor thermometer says the temp varies from 83.7 to 84.1 but I can't get the humidity above 60. Some of the eggs have sunken in a little so I have been misting the eggs lightly a few times a day; they look a tiny bit better, but the humidity stays the same and there is no condensation whatsoever. What can I do to save "Barbie's" eggs? I can't begin to tell you how much I would appreciate any advice you are willing to give.

Hi
never misting eggss!!
if drops water come on the eggs it is bad.
if it happend then use a tisue to take of the water drop.
humitity should be between the 70-90%
and 100 gram water for 100 gram vermuciliet .
if eggs dend in then its most of the time to dry .
also when they can hatch 2,3 days before they also can get dends.
