KEEPING LIDS ON WITH RACKS

BOASELECTER Apr 21, 2005 04:58 AM

Another question about my new racks - my current ones are in the usual fasion with no lids. This is how they are usually done - but is there any reason for this - is it just visual - Im having difficulty putting lively snakes back in - they try to escape and Im worried about trapping them. Thinking of making the racks a little bigger and just keeping thhe lids on the boxes.

Anyone else do this?

Cheers

Sam

Only for hatchling racks that contain venomous. Otherwise, no, I prefer lidless. I actually find it easier to get squirly specimens back in their cages.

The stuff I keep is about as squirly as it gets. Lidless racks all the way.

I agree with Chris I think its easier to squeeze a snake in a slightly opened drawer then put a big lid on a tub. Not just whith venomous,I have seen someone bit putting a lid back on. Hit him right in the belly proving some non-venomous species are just as quick.
