I rinse mine. I don't know if boiling them will soften them up or not. My mali loves them, probably because they are crunchy and more fun to eat then regular greens. I give them to him about twice a week as a treat with his usually diet.

Sometimes I give them dry and sometimes I put them in water for a night and then give them.
Dry is their favorite.

Hello from the Netherlands... this is my Uro-Website

I feed mine dry, split yellow peas, split green peas, lentils, bee pollen granules, millet and juvenile iquana food. I have a small ceramic dish which I just have set towards the back of their cage (hopefully I choose an area that they decide not to travel through LOL) and just leave it there. Sometimes they will come out later in the day and snack. For my smaller ones I put it in a coffee grinder and make the pieces smaller. I have thirteen uros and all of them like it.

'Ho, you two. I was just curious, this is the staple diet, no? Well, anyway, do you guys feed any greens with the lentil, peas, and the such?
Oh no no...not the staple. They must have the greens to get the proper nutrition and the moisture. The lentils and peas are more like a suppliment to the greens. Definately always give the fresh veggies.
btw..I give mine a small bowl of them dry on the side to munch on after they have eaten their regular greens.
