Any one know about these?

Animalfarie15 Apr 21, 2005 10:05 AM

Hi,

At my local petsmart there is a cage (not sure of exact gallon but looks pretty large, also its tall so I figured anoles would like it) it has mesh on its sides and a mesh top also. I know humidity could be a problem but has any one had these before? Here is the website www.oceanicsystems.com

I know exactly what you are talking about. I don't have one because I don't like spending that much money such a small tank. That cage is more suitable for reptiles that need more air flow like chameleons. Keeping the humidity up would be a problem but not as bad as using a Reptarium or similar cage. I think the company is mostly making those cages like that for the extra money that they think people will pay for those.

Anoles are much beter off in an all glass tank with a screen lid unless your whole room is humidified. My room is like that and someday soon I'll be buying those very cheap Reptariums for them. I aready use one for my standing's day geckos but they are in a much drier room because too much himidity is bad for them.

That's cool! I just think that if someone is going to spend over $100 on a tank it better be bigger than 30-40 gallons. I spent $40 on my 29gal tank but only $30 for my 65gal Reptarium. If I need vents on the side of my tank I'll just add them myself. The only nice thing about those expensive tanks is that you can open those side screens to throw in prey. I wouldn't want to pay so much just for that feature though.
