I cut them in 1/2 for a 7 month old Uro after they are thawed (seems easier).

Good question though... they do seem soft and easy to eat full size but the Uro is so small. Thats just what I do to be safe.

Even with my other Uro that was an adult I always continued to cut the green and lima beans in 1/2 and intend to do the same with this one.

thnx for your reply. i was watching my young juvi eat one and i notice he couldnt munch it down and ended up swallowing it. i'll have to cut them in half and see how that works out.

After thawing, I kind of squeeze each pea (he only gets a few) until the skin bursts, but leave the guts in. Cutting would work fine, too, but that's one more thing to wash every day.

I feed a lot of frozen vegetables so I like to use a small processor for young uros. I don't puree(?) the food I just break it down enough for them to handle it more easily. They seem to like it like that.
Additionally, they're not big fans of their greens so I often blend those in with the veggies. The only draw-back I've found is the veggies dry out quicker like this.
