LOL, I just got done answering a bunch of e-mails dealing with the same question. I should have saved them and pasted them over here.
I have one Vision rack designed around the CB-80 box. It is basically the same box as the regular Vision rack but 12" tall. I'm getting two more levels so I'll have two, four-level racks.
I really like the rack. First and formemost, I like how light it is. I was shocked when the Fed Ex guy handed me the box. I also like that it is easily broken down for thorough cleaning. I'll be using this rack to quarantine imports so that is important to me. I'll also be able to wheel it between my quarantine space and my snake room.
I also like how secure it is. Since it runs on a rail built around the lip of the box this actually makes the rack more secure. The reason being is that there is a natural varation in the height of the boxes. Up to 3/16" in some cases. With a normal rack where the gap is built around these tolerances that can be the difference between an escape or not. Since the Vision rack runs on the box lip this tolerance problem disapears. Important for the species I keep - Gonyosoma are good escape artists.
And I actually prefer the open design. I believe this is a huge advantage for medium to large collections. Since ambient room heat is the most efficient way to heat a reptile collection I actually like that the rack is so open to the heat in my room. More importantly, it cools off quickly which makes it invaluable to re-create the quick and dramatic night-time temperature shifts that are thought to be so important in inducing breeding. With some of the other more bulky racks I have they tend to hold their heat for hours after my heat sources shut off. And then they take longer to heat up in the AM when my heat sources turn back on/up.
I went with the heat cable simply because I thought it was a slick design. I liked the fact that I could route as much or as little cable per level as necessary.
I really have not tested the heaters to their full capacity. My room heat failed while I was out of town and my Vision rack was the warmest when I got back. So my inclination is that it's pretty good.
Oh yeah, I also wanted it because I knew I could hook my misting system up to it.
Let me know if you have any further questions. I've got to run right now.
