you get a chair and sit in front of the cage to make sure the skin comes off nicer and smoothe and in 1 piece. If blood starts to squirt out you grab your talcom powder and apply immidately directly to the wound. Don't leave the snakes sight and don't let him or her out of your sight. If you have too put a bucket next to your chair incase you need to go wee wee. Don't eat or sleep you never know whats going to go wrong. I hope this helps shedding is very stressful and i'm 15 with a full head of grey. Buts its rewarding when they shed and give you a big kiss afterwards. Hope this helps you Paul

it's usually about six days from the time you first notice a snake has gone "blue" or in shed, to when it sheds. you shouldn't have to do anything. If it comes off in pieces, with some pieces staying on the snake, you could put a hide box with moist paper tolwels or sphagnum moss, something to keep the snake's skin moist for a few hours or a day. But almost always no special steps are necessary--nature's evolved the animals to shed routinely. By the way, if you're feeding it often, it may shed every month.
