Loss of Appetite-- Worried

Buddy25 Apr 21, 2005 07:50 PM

Hello all,
First of all, I'd like to say I HAVE READ other threads to get ideas on what may be going through my stubborn gecko's head.

About 2-3 weeks ago my little leopard gecko has seemed to go on hunger strike. OCCASIONAllY he will take a insect or two, but then its usually a small amount, and then he fasts again.

I read in a recent thread, that leo's sometimes get bored of some foods. Being that I had been feeding mealworms for awhile, I switched to crickets and my leo, became slightly more interested. HOWEVER, he's gone bored again!!!

He still looks like a healthy weight, and he has a very fat tail! Any ideas, or input?

Also, I read baby food can be fed for "sick" leopard gecko's? Is this true, and if so...what type?

Thanks a billion,

sounds like u just have a very full gecko. As they get older some geckos will only need a small amount of food to keep at a healthy weight, while others eat almost everyday and never gain any wieght. Also if the temp is low feeding and digestion slow down is another thing to think about. But if ur gecko is at a healthy wieght and has a fat tail chances r its just full.
