Posing for a shot

HighDesertHerper Apr 21, 2005 09:30 PM

I think this one saw the camera. Instead of running, it seemed to turn for a pose.

It's time for the little ones to be extra careful. The Leopards came out today!

Just a couple for good measure. Just for the record, The Sidewinders were NOT both male. You can't see it in the pic, but the female was wagging her tail to get the males attention.

Thanks for looking

I think the mastacophis in red is one of the most beautiful snakes. Thanks for all the excellent shots. Tom

Do those dipsos have some coloration to their heads? Or are they still exhibiting post brumation dirt? They seem relatively colorful for the area you are in. I've only seen one in person, and it was in Palm Springs about 5 years ago. Great looking pictures.

That is the natural color. Mind you, each one is a little different. But they are very clean and colorful animals. The high desert animals do tend to be a little different in coloration to the lower desert.
Thanks for looking
