how long does it take a female to lay egs after breeding? and when using a hovabator can one use a sterilite box with the vermiculite in it? if so does it need to be covered and how many holes should be drilled in it? sorry for the plethora of questions im just a curious person XD. thanks in advance.

1) the mating/laying interval can vary from a few months to upwards of a year...last year I had a female with last mating about March 20...did not ovulate until early August...eggs laid late September...7 eggs all fertile...hatched 8 babies: twins! However, the average is about 3-4 months...
2) Yes USE A LID on laying chamber when using Hovabators...
3) only a few small holes...you'll be lifting the lid of the egg chamber to add water, check eggs, etc., so only a few holes are needed...

good luck...
