new hatchlings...

i had some babies hatch today. do i leave them in the incubator for a couple of days like i do my geckos? or do i take them out and put them in a cage?

I always leave ours in the incubator on moist paper towels for about 24 hours until I see them running around and gaining there energy back. I think it's better for them to be there then exposed to the hot lights and stress of their regular cage.

One of the biggest dangers to losing baby hatchlings is for them to get dehydrated and "dry out". Keeping them on the moist paper towels in the dark with high humidity helps them the first 24 hours out of the egg I believe. After that, they gain a lot of energy and are running around most of the time.

Make sure you mist them a lot. Dunno what you do for geckos, but for the dragons it's a good idea to mist them at least three times a day at that age.
