Good incubation temps???

oddballpythons Apr 22, 2005 10:29 AM

My incubator is full as of this morning and I am going to fire up the old helix as a spare. I am really wondering what is the safe temperature range for eggs. What is the lowest and highest temps people have incubated eggs out at? I try to keep them at exactly 89 but I know they must have a pretty good range of temps that they can be at for long periods of time before they go bad. I am not wondering about short term spikes or drops in temps more of what temps could they survive at for 12-24 hours. If I have to guess I would say 85-91 but does anyone know for sure?

85-91 degrees is a good guess. Try to keep it as close to the middle, 88-89, as possible and you should have no problems.

I prefix this with, all my eggs incubate within one degree of 89. But, IMHO, I think they can survive as low as 84 and as high as 93. But who wants to risk the life of an animal for an experiment? Not me.
