Boaphile or Vision Cages for pits???

ofkap Apr 22, 2005 11:55 AM

Needing some bigger cages as my pits are out growing the sweater box rack. I am considering the model 400 vision @ $220, and the boaphile 4 foot @ $219.

I have never personally laid eyes on either cage, so your comments are my sole basis for purchase.

I like the looks of the vision, and the recessed vent for heat and light.

I keep
2.3 Kankakee bulls w.c. & c.b. 3-5ft.
1.1 Black pines 3 ft plus
2.1 Northern pines 3 ft plus (nice Jersey stock)
and hopfully soon an elusive Palm Beach county Florida pine. (found some habitat, but no snakes yet.)

Ease of use and functionality is paramount.

Regards,
Ron

Hey Ron, not too long ago we discussed this. It may even be within the first few pages of this forum. If not do a search with something similar to the title of your post and you should find it. If you can't I will try n locate the post for you when I have a chance Tom Stevens

Found it Jan 7th or so... THANKS!
One question...heating the model 400 vision was mentioned but not resolved. (no can light). Is the strip in back capable of accepting an incandescent or is it too thin?

and I could not be happier with them. In addition to the V400s I went and purchased online 6 heat mats 11"X17" @14.99 each and use them directly between the cages. I can send you pics if you want.

Personnally I went with Vision over Boaphile because the vented hoods in the back and knowing that pits do better with less humidity. My pits love them and it is really neat to watch them streeeetch out in those cages. I swear they look at me and smile One other advantage I like is having sliding right or left doors versus hinged doors. I don't know if boaphile offers that but I definately like the sliders. Extremely easy to clean.

I bought mine in February and it cost me 985.00 shipped. Go directly to Vision and save yourself a few bucks unless the price has gone up (was 199.00 shipped each).

Good luck,
Russ

Thanks Russ. I think the 400's are the ticket. I can buy them locally and pick up for $220, for $20 bucks a cage I'll take the instant gratification.
