True story - I've got a beardie that runs and hides when the vacuum cleaner starts up. It might have something to do with the vibrations, but I would say that they have pretty good hearing. Just my .02 worth.

mine seems to hear fine...he reacts to different sounds on the t.v., listens to the crickets scrambling around in their containers, reacts to the kids in their rooms, woke up to a not so very loud thunderstorm last night and looks at me when I say his name from across the room...

I have done the 3x post thing myself!

Darwin is situated in the hall so sometimes I feel that I startle him when I turn the corner or come up the stairs. I am used to chams, who respond so differently b/c their eyes are their main sensory source (very minimal hearing). Sometimes it seems he is oblivious to me until I am right there, and other times he seems to "hear" the creak in the stairs.
