foggers are SWEET. i need to get another one. one tip if you're not already doing it, use clean drinking water, and try to put it into a container that is vented where no fecal matter or debris of any type can come in contact with it. the " diaphram" piece gets dirty and will become ruined much quicker.

i saw a cool design at the chicago reptile swap where a guy had a " drawer" style holder where a clear tupperware container slid into the top of the cage. it had several small holes for the fog to roll out. this way it stays clean, and the fog is towards the top of the cage rather than the bottom and falls as it comes out.

Using a cool mist humidifier eliminates nearly all of those problems, and costs just about the same as a fogger. We place them near the cages and use PVC to pipe the mist in. Plus, they are adjustable in the mist flow, do not offer any chance of electrocution (VERY common with the disc type foggers when in the cage itself) either. You can see the the humidifier above the cages in this pic:

I use an ultrasonic humidifier for my large U. henkeli viv. I love the humidity it adds withouth getting everything overly soaked, but still allowing enough condensation to form to quench the thirst of thirsty gex. In the pic, its on the far left.

I have no idea how people do it..I know they use PVC or at least that what most people use....

I myself wouldn't mind learning how to do it.

haha awesome pics. looks like there should be a caption somewhere along the lines of "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

anyhow, i thought i would share the way i did my fogger, at least for now, thats really cheap and effective. all i did was take the plastic lid off of one of those 100-pack cd spindles, cut a long thin section out of half of it, then put some of that vinyl screening over the top (2 layers of it, mainly to stop all of the water that splashes out). anyhow, i just place that simple setup on top of any of my tanks, and turn it on. a cascade of fog flows out thru the opening i cut, and usually within 5 minutes the entire cage is full of fog, even my 30 gal talls. i dont use it too regularly, because i make at least once daily sprays of all the cages after the lights go out, but i often use it on new arrivals just to make sure to give them that high humidity they do so well in, plus it helps keep the water from mistings from drying out as fast.
