Bad day, Lost snake

ssjenny1 Apr 23, 2005 12:17 AM

To top off an already bad day: Came home to find out my husband had fed corn snake, then decided to play video games before putting Mr. No Toes back. Of course, he escaped. Have looked around but no luck yet. Unfortunately, we live in Maine, in an old house...and if he gets into walls there are huge openings to outside. Still too cold for him out there in big bad world. Wish me luck.

Hopefully, by the time you read this post, you will have found Mr. No Toes. Keep looking, I bet he didn't go too far, especially since he just ate. A quiet, cozy spot pretty close to where he escaped is my bet. Again, good luck. Duffy

In my case, my wife's worthless cat jumped on top of the cage and wrecked the screen. "John" is a pretty large corn - 4' and eating adult rats. I caught him 5 days after the fact, looking sheepish, right smack in the middle of one of our bathroom's floors...

That cat is still walking with a limp. I'm denying all knowledge.

A lot of people with cats and snakes learn this the hard way. Cats are natural killers. Their prey drive is very high and they don't kill just for food. No matter how docile you believe your cat is it will eventually go after your reptiles if the opportunity presents itself.

Hope you find him (I know what it feels like) They can be a pain to find but usually show up within two months. I doubt he will go outside He is probably not that stupid and will hopefully stay in the house.

Good luck, Derek
