Is it alright to let the cool side get to the low 70s if I have a hot side of 86 -88? I am talking about a boa cage and a burm cage?

No, you should try and keep the cool side in the 80's at least high seventies should be fine but I wouldn't go two low unless its October and your inducing breeding then 70-75 is ok.
