mexican milksnake weights???

Gazza Apr 23, 2005 08:26 AM

Hi,

I would like to know what would be the minimum weight for a mex milk to go into hibernation and successfully breed aswell?

I have a spotted male that is 105grams at the moment and I have 3 female hets for him to mate with next year hopefully, would his weight be sufficient, even if he was in with bigger females.

Thanks for your help in advance

Gary

As long as he is sexually mature (producing viable sperm), it really doesn't matter how much he weighs. Go ahead and monitor him while you put him with the female(s) next season.

Make sure the females have some size and weight. 3 years old may be a better age for females to start breeding, though many will produce at age 2.
