Arboreal multi-plex - for Shhawke and others.

Here's a cheap way to get displays for Chondros and other arboreals.

I did not design or build this cage. A contact of mine asked about this cage that I built from a 50 gallon storage tote mounted onto an epoxy-sealed face frame.

He showed the pictures to a carpenter friend and this is what they came up with. The black box pictured is available at any Lowes.

He built this for Amazon Tree Boas.

Vertical, as in these pictures, the cages are about 19"x23"x29". That's width x depth x height.

I assume for Chondros you might turn them horizontal.

I posted the first picture here before and a lot of people contacted me about how to build their own. Thought others might be interested in seeing another application of this idea.

Remember that I did not build this unit. I only supplied pictures of cages I built using the same idea and they did it. I'll have to get the owner to post as I don't remember the total cost but he did say it was cheap.

The thing to remember about this design is that you can buy the box cheaper than the materials to build it. So if you keep a species that does well in a box this size you're on your way to a cage that is cheap, light, and still looks nice.

I can provide general information about the general use of this style of cage since I have used it for years. But the guy who built this cage will have to provide specifics about this unit.

Here's the front view of one of my original cages. It looks much better in person than this picture suggests. It had been trashed pretty good by a newborn C. zebrata when this photo was taken.
