...the co-dom road to lucy's, otherwise it'd be the number one project or nearly so...SJM

Tracy Barker Apr 23, 2005 04:18 PM

True, but once the odds are upped to 1/4 with axanthics het albino and albino het axanthic, or all snow to snow-pairing those animals with anything het albino or het axanthic, albino or axanthic will put some serious animals out as well!

Hey Dan, that white out I sold you is working out great. I told you it would work on reptiles. Lol.

Tracy Barker Apr 23, 2005 07:29 PM

these snow projects was for not too much money, but willing to work and breed the snakes you could get a white snake, albinos, and axanthics along the way. I love the idea that you could start with a het albino and het axanthic and just see how long it took you. Slowly but surely you would build up your colony and along the way-the worst you were making was a bunch of nice normal breeder females. I do lots of possible hets and I'm always amazed how lucky I have been with them.

Last year I bred TWO possible double het male (vpipossaxanthic x 100% albino) to two female vpi het axanthics. BOTH males turned out to be double hets and I made NINE -9- axanthic poss albinos from 15 eggs!! Now if I take those snakes and hit on them being het for axanthic-1 out of 4 babies from them could be a snow! Or if I hit on one male being het for albino-any het albino female or albino female I breed it to-the albino babies will be 100% het for axanthic-true het snows.

Slowly but surely I'm working my way-I have had THREE of my customers make snows-breeding double het to double het and I haven't yet-because I've been doing it the slower possible het way-but when I start making the first ones-I'll have my female poss hets-soon hopefully proven ready to go!!!

Here is a pic of one of the vpi axanthic poss het albinos from last year...

next year and I plan on taking the slow approach as well. Unless I could find a pair of inexpensive DH from a reliable source.

Dan, this is the most stunning snow I've seen. It has renewed my interest in the snow. Will you be showing it at Daytona this year?

I do not think we will have her in Daytona. She does not do good going to shows. Her whole face gets all messed up when ever we take her out. We may have her in Anahiem for the show there since it is more local but I doubt we will put her through the shipping process. We will have at the show though axanthic 100% het albinos & double hets. Those axanthic het albinos really make the odds in your favor.

Very nice Dan and Colette. That is one of the best white looking snakes I've seen in awhile either snow or lucy. Makes me wonder about some of the prices that I've been seeing on the "het" lucy's.

I'm going to have to rethink this whole snow project thing! I don't have any axanthics but I might have to get me some!

Beautiful snow!
