Chia has begun to lay BIG EGG

PHEve Apr 23, 2005 04:19 PM

Dang she just layed this huge egg, I was getting worried she has been digging for a week. Not eating, and its been 32 days since breeding.

So I'm happy shes finally laying. The one egg so far is a BIG One near her tail in pic.

These Vestiguim seem to take longer at doing things, laying and egg hatchling, and trying to sex them, takes longer too,

Chia had started to lay C. vestigium

wow i would have freaked out by now if my lizards had waited that long. i am glad she seems to be doing ok. someone mentioned earlier this year that the pink spots should always face up but i always thought you should keep them the way the mom laid them. like in picture that nice pink spot seems to be kind of up, but kind of to the side. how would you place it in the incubator?

Because I said that I was told the red is the embryonic disk...what normally happens is the disk floats up to the surface and attaches itself there soon after laying...any turning after that point is not good. Of course that could all be internet BS I'm passing along...who will know

Don't know why they were so large this time, hope that means they are nice and healthy , LOL

Momma's doing fine, thank goodness Eggs are in the cooker Now the LONG vestigium wait 60ish to 70 something .....

Oh I remember that wait last year to see Chippewa hatch!

But.... It was well worth it.
