does this bulb looks like it would serve good for a uvb/basking bulb if so what wattage should i get for a 20gallon long and how long would the ubv rays last before the bulb would have to be replaced.

That bulb produces only UVA not UVB. Your best bet for heat is to just get a regular halogen bulb for heat or use a standard clear household bulb. For UVB the best ones, in my opinion are the Repti-Sun 5 and 10 and Mystic. If you go with Mystic, only use for a couple hours a day, it throws out INTENSE UVB! I just started using the Mystic and I love it. It's recommended to replace the bulbs every 6 months or so. As for wattage, you'll just have to test and see. I'm guessing a 50 or 75 but it depends on how far the bulb is from the basking area, the temp of your house, etc. Buy a couple different ones and just test them...use a temp gun or a probe thermometer. here is more info on the bulb.it states that the bulb is a uvb bulb.
