Is it possible to "milk" the spawn of male frogs (without damaging them), similar to what is done with salmon?

I'm curious because a few nights ago, I found 2 gravid spring peepers DOR ( it was raining, either they where feasting under the lights or on the way to the breeding ditch). The only damage was the viscera hanging out. They looked almost alive, and the eggs were undamaged. Later I wondered if they (eggs) could have been saved.
