yesterday i was out herping bragg on a trail near an over pass. when i asked a hiker if they saw a snake he replied that he had seen an eastern king which he described as tame. Heres the problem ive been looking for an eastern king for 3years it is on my life list but this one is a MILE AWAY i RUN TO THE OVER PASS BY THE TIME i GET THERE ALL i SEE IS A SMALL BURROW WITH SNAKE TRACKS TO IT. i start digging then the tunnel leads under the overpass and the grounds to hard to continue digging i finaly fell the snake with my finger but it eludes my grasp. o well. At least now i know were he lives, better luck next time. Any of you have a similar story of eludement.

I flipped a sheet of tin in LA and a speckled king eluded my capture into a crayfish hole. A little spoon and a sharp knife resulted in this.......

Not a recommended practice, but I didn't drive 500 miles for her to escape:D
