Head Macro Shot- what do you think?

bloodycats Jul 10, 2003 10:02 PM

Here's a macro of my hypo ball python "Clinton" taken with my Nikon Coolpix 4300. It's been scaled down. I am an artist and so I take lots of photos of my snakes to be used as references in my paintings. What do you think of this angle as a painting? Any other suggestions to make my photography better/ more interesting? Thanks!

I like the angle of the pic and think it would make a great painting. A majority of the pic is out of focus. I was having the same problem with my macro shots. You may be able to get the same shot in focus by backing away from the pic a bit and zooming in, or by backing away and taking a pic on a larger pic setting like 128 X 960 and cropping it down to just the head. I kinda like the not in focus part. I guess it makes a huge difference to see the image in full size. You can fully see my hand and the camera ion his eye. I took this pic about an inch from the guy's face. I also think it would make a great painting. Thanks for the reply.
