How Many Times w/ Breeding?

Tumtum03 Apr 24, 2005 04:54 PM

I am looking to start breeding my dragons her shortley and I had a question about it. I have read the books out there and researched, so I am not a "new one" when it comes to these guys. When it comes to breeding, how many times should you let the male breed with the female? I breed cresties so I leave the male in there for about a month to make sure they have mated, but then I take the male out the rest of the time. I was just curious since dragons are more aggresive then cresties when it comes to breeding. I would not want to stress either of my guys out. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

I believe you only need to let them breed a couple times to get several clutches of eggs. It's not a good ideal to leave the male in with the female for days. Typically an hour or so is more than enough time to ensure he breeds her. Just keep an eye on them to make sure they don't actually start fighting. Females have attacked males before when not ready to breed. Even the male can seriously injury your female while trying to breed her.
