Last one, Kong is a BIG BOY ! LOL You had asked the other day, or said, I would like to see KOng next to a chuck.

I have 3 pics for you to look at.

I think the only people who know how big KONG is are myself, and the lizard wrangler himself, ehehhehe Johneee

Wow great looking collard. Pet store I go to sells them. I was curious if they could be housed with same size leopard lizard ?
Pet store has them both together but both young lizards not to mention not in greatest of shape. I like both types.
Thanks

even if the same size, really should not do it. And adult leopards would eat a smaller collared. An adult collared will also eat small lizards.

Better to house same species of lizards together, and also same sized lizards. All lizards carry their own parisites/ bacteria, and one can catch something from another.

Thanks for the kind words about KONG These guys do not live together either, it was just a pic to show sizes of each.

Thanks for the info. I keep snakes but love the look of collards and leopard lizards to. I was thinking of collards but after reading the posts here. I realize they need way more room than pet store guy told me.
I am looking now into building something like a desert set up enclosure . The pet store guy told me a 40 long would be big enough for 3 collards but I see thats not the case at all.
Very informative forum.
Thanks.

I notice the colors on your collards are very bright not to mention you seem to like Sun lovers as far as lizards go.
Do you keep them outside or use metal halide lighting, etc?
I am looking into a desert style set up and thinking metal halide in basking areas. What do you use?
thanks.

I think Kong get a big variety of UVB ... let Eve explain

But how about the others ?

reptisun 5.0 uvb on mostly all my lizards, Kong always had reptisun 5.0 also, but then he began to free roam.

I had to have one light hanging over the floor basking site for him and a couple others who run free. So I went with a Zoomed MVB for the free roamers !

I have heard the halide lights are very good also. Guess its all trial and error, see what works best.

As far as bright colors, they were born pretty ! LOL

Thanks its good to know you like those two types of bulbs. I mentioned halide but nothing written in stone if you use/like those bulbs going to look into those.
I start building my indoor desert this weekend.
Thanks again

What a cool lizard. My husband and I enjoyed the pics next to the Chuckwalla. I think Kong's head is bigger, no wonder why doesn't want to eat crickets.

Annabella's been feasting on superworms. She's been able to down 3 at a time for her small frame.
