Ball python compatitbility

JakeD Apr 24, 2005 05:38 PM

I just bought a normal ball python and was wondering if I could keep him in the same cage as my albino ball as long as its big enough? I have a 40 gallon aquarium with two heat pads and two hide boxes. I was just wondering if I could combine my two snakes. Any input is greatly appreciated.

....putting your newly acquired $25 BP with your established $2300 albino is asking for trouble....better to set the new one up in a separate cage even if you have to spend a few bucks to do it....

Scott, you are a veterinarian and know worlds more than I do but if he quarantines the new snake for a while why shouldn't he then be able to put them together? I have both my male and female together and they get along just fine. They have from the begining.

...no problem, but no less than several months, or preferably until he's ready to produce hets....too much diff in values to take any chances here.....sjm
