Looking for Natural looking tanks

Lacrosseboss18 Apr 24, 2005 07:15 PM

I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere i could go to get any cool pictures of tank setups. Anything that is really natural looking?

I did a search in the gallery section but i didnt come up with much of anything. I searched CG, crested Gecko, Rhacodactylus, Rhac and i didnt find anything i was looking for. I was goign to setup cages for mine and wantted some new ideas.

I went to a reptile show today and they had some amazing setups there to look at for crested geckos. I was wondering if anyone had some to look at.

Also are there any other sites that have good info?

Thanks
Joseph

i keep 2 females in here of which im letting grow a bit more, even though they're at the lower end of an acceptable breeding weight. I'll get another pic of my other setup in a few...

This is what started it all. I put this up to house frogs and ended up getting a pair of cresteds. I had never seen anything like them before and really didnt know anything about them. This has been up and running for the last three years it is virtualy maitenance free and has been the birth place of dozens of cresteds. It wasnt untill the sixth clutch that I was able find the eggs before they hatched. It now houses three adult females.

Thats amazing that your eggs hatched in the tank. How did that happen.

When I got the cresteds they were adults so I was hoping for eggs. One day after about 4 months I noticed the female looked a whole lot slimmer than she had the day before. I tore apart the fully planted tank looking for eggs Nothing! A couple months later I turned on the light and there was a baby on the glass! Every 30 days or so I would start scanning for babies and they would appear as if by magic. Once I could only find one 3 days later When I went into the room I found one that was sitting on a picture frame on the other side of the room. After months of this I finally caught her laying and was able to remove the eggs. The Tank is fully planted, has a false bottom with water underneath and a waterfall. There is about 4 inches of bed a beast for a substrate that stays moist. While removing the eggs and incubating them in gladware is way less time consuming it is not as amazing as finding them in the plants.

i've always wanted to walk into the room and find some baby geckos, especially uroplatus...

This 30 gallon high holds a breeding pair of "chocolate fire" Crested Geckos.
