Lemme tell ya how quick monitors are learning wise.

Critter has already learned that when I clank the feeding tonges together it means food. But usually I've been video taping him eating with my digi camera because of my morbid habit of getting a kick out of watching him gulp down mice like jello.

So anyways, I take my camera to his cage to take some pics of him while he's soaking in his water bowl. Well, he put 2 n 2 together and thought that he was getting food today when today isn't food day. He saw the camera in my hand can came running over to the edge of the class smelling everything in sight.

Of course I had no food to give him and felt bad cause I had this feeling that I some how tricked him. But anyways, he gives me this stare that says "you retard, when you bring camera, you bring food! WHERES MUH FOOOOODDDDDD!?" and goes back to what ever he was doing.

The end.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my monitors act like that all the time. Change the channel on the TV,Time to eat?
Dog barks, Time to eat? Doorbell rings, Time to eat?
Kids come home from school, Time to eat?
My argus is the worst one about wanting to eat all the time, but if he didn't, I would think something is wrong.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Well, it wouldn't phase me if he ran to the glass everytime he saw me, but he doesn't. He'll only jump around and stuff if he sees the white cup that the mice are in, the tongs, or the camera.

Usually, he'll just sit there and watch me when I enter the room or if he's in his hide box, he'll retreat farther back into it. So he has learned to associated certain objects and sounds with food. Cause I can wrinkle a bag or something else that makes sound and we wont dart out of his hide, but when you clank those tongs together, here comes flash.

Well, I can say mine also does that, but I always have a good supply of crickets/mice/etc for him so I feed him whenever he seems to be dieing for it. I've noticed him growing A LOT more since i've started doing this. Just need to watch out so he doesn't get obeice.

My BT only knows what day is the day is the food-day. His schedule is one day crickets, next day 2 pinkies, next day digestion, soak and rest, then again crickets the next day, etc... Those 2 days of food i would find him leaning on the glass waiting for me, looking at the other animals i have as if asking "Has he given food to you guys yet?". Makes me suspect he has learnt the how many days go pass before food time.lol
