100% het pied clutch not what I was hoping for......looking for feedback

jim_perron Apr 24, 2005 09:39 PM

Looks like 3 very good eggs....1 questionable....and 3 slugs.....OUCH!

Well I have 3 more 100% het pied clutched on the way.....so hopefully things will improve.

QUESTION.....have any of you seen eggs like that questionable one with the big nipple hatch successfully. I'm referring to the egg at the top of the pic between the two slugs. This egg is also attached to one of the slugs.

Hi there to answer your question yes they can hatch out just fine. I have a ghost clutch with one egg that looks just like yours it is do to hatch in about two weeks so dont count them out. Paul

....last year....one was about like yours and I got a 100% het albino, the other was about 20% worse (different clutch) and I had to peel a runt pastel female that DNS (did not survive)...she got robbed of most of the yolk...

...that slug can easily be removed from that egg...use probes...it'll come off easily...

....use the probe to gently "kneed" the eggs apart...kind of go around the circumference of the attachment...the "glue" will stretch and separate..."poof"...they're separated...sjm
