Help point me in the direction of a rack system plans

Lacrosseboss18 Apr 24, 2005 11:25 PM

Can someone point me in the right direction of a rack system. They will be keeping, Leopard Geckos mainly and hopefully in a years time some crested Geckos. I would like to use heat tape on this rack system. I will use a big apple thermostat on the system. I want to start with something small and as i need i can build a new one. Ive been reading tons of info about racks on the forum. Is there one that you all thought about bookmarkin.

Thanks
Joseph

I build my racks upside down like one of the hatchling rack plans at arbreptiles.com but use a melamine spacer like you can see at FineGTPs.com. Sorry to now provide direct links as I don't have time to look them up right now.

My major piece of advice is to not build the racks too tight. This is the biggest mistake first time builders make. It's also easier to shim up a level that is too loose than to remove material from a level that is too tight.

Leopard geckos are not great escape artists, keep the gap big. Shooot for 1/8" between the top of the tub rim and the bottom of the shelf above.
