I would appreciate any tips on housing, etc. I'm getting a 1.2 trio...subadults... how much room for each...I'm thinking a 15-quart sterilite-type box for them...what about substrate...I'm told they eat well and shed regularly...Thanks...

well, I wouldn't say they 'eat well and shed regularly'--definitely get ones that are on f/t rodents and expect that they may eat great, or they may be difficult (just look through the pages of this forum, you'll see). As for sheddding, mine has shed 4 times and I've had her over a year and she;s young--nothing like my king who at one point was shedding almost once a month. but I've heard this from others too, that they just don't shed that much. I keep mine in a sterilite container in aspen shavings and she does fine and has so far never had any problem sheds. They are very cool snakes....just don't worry if they don't eat for a bit or something like that, and you should be just fine as far as keeping them.

Thanks...I'm sure I'll enjoy them...I keep the kings on paper because they eat/shed/p**p so often...I think my kings shed monthly...the little guys anyway...

That's what I use. They work great. I get the ones with clips on the sides for extra security - hogs are a stout snake! I keep mine in a rack with the warm side at 86 and the cool at room temp. They do well.
