I will get some juvies of Cynops pyhrrogaster and have been told that they are far more difficult than adults to keep. I would like more tips on their care.
Thanks a lot

I have cynops orientalis juveniles right now. They are really tiny and are related to the ones you have. I keep them on wet moss with about 1cm of cold, dechlorinated water. They need to be kept wet at all times. The biggest problem is finding live food that is terrestrial and small enough for them to eat. They will not eat frozen/thawed food anymore. Chop up some live earthworms into tiny pieces and coat them with a vitamin powder, then tong feed them or tweezer feed them. Mine also enjoy going after flightless fruitflies, their favorite. Also, live blackworms are good and springtails as well. Just be sure to clean the cage a few times a week, or else it may get dirty in there and stress the juvies. Good luck!
