Where in LA is that one from? It is very nice!
This 04 female I have was only listed as La. locality, so I don't have her down to a specific county. She came from "Isis Reptiles" and is Lloyd Llemke stock. Mine is a sybling to JETZEN's speckled Kings.
That speckled king you posted below I just finished looking at, and all I can say is "WOW", what a stunning animal. It's very interesting to see how holbrooki compare in east Texas vs ones in Louisiana or Mississippi, as far as their size, color of their speckling, and the amound of cross bars one locality has vs another. I love how some have very bright yellow specks, while others have the cream specs over a black background. And even more rare are the ones with white speckling over a black body. Post some more pics of that beauty when you get a chance.

...is the very reason I LOVE Lampropeltis getula!!
Most of the ones here in east central MS where I am located are bright yellow, but they retain the crossbands and have small spots. The only two exceptions I know of have come from a clutch I hatched in '03. I held back three offspring and the two females are amazing. The male is very nice too, he's just a little behind in development. I have one of the females now and two very good friends of mine have the other female and the male. I'll try to shoot some pics of her soon and post them.
The MS Delta has some KILLER specks. Some of them are 80% yellow or more. You look across the road and see a yellow snake and wonder, "What is that?!!"
The ones we saw in SW Louisiana last weekend appear to be "multispeckled" like the one you are refering to in the post below. All of the juveniles are banded of course, but the sub-adults have lost the majority of the banded pattern and the largest one in that post is just simply mind-blowing! Anyway, I'll stop rambling. I could type snakes all night...lol.
Wow! The thought of a black speckled with evenly spaced WHITE spots... Thats just too much. What an awsome thing that must look like.
Bob.
NIIIIICE!!!!
