PS-for reals,thanks for posting that.
You're welcome and thanks for the compliment.
11 zonata in 2 days is alot but when you put rocks back exactly as you found them you can go back expecting to find snakes under the same rocks again and spend less time because you know right where the good rocks are. Then you can search new rocks and find even higher numbers. Our record for the Sierras was 21 zonata in a day and I attribute that to the fact that we had hunted this area for 2 years always putting the rocks back.
I have seen your posts and I am sure you know this already but I would just like to encourage everyone to put this into practice.
Hi,
Defintley,I understand what your saying.Whats sad,is right now alla round the san bernardino mtns there is so much rock damage, but not from herpers, from all the tree removal.3 spots that i go to each year to see mtn.kings is wrecked.I took some pics,I'll post them once i get them on my site-(also got some nice parvirubra pics from last week too) but it sucks, cause these are spots that herpers dont go to and have been the same for years. Man,21 zonata in one day, thats pretty neat. The most I've seen in one day was 3,lol,compared to 21.Well thanks for the reply, and hopefully more people will leave rocks as they were when they first got there.
Jeff
to me for the SB's. I only found one there ever in about 4 tries, and I was told about where to go.

Sounds like a good trip! We are in southern Cal. doing some field work now. Not having the kind of luck you did yet but we're working it.
Man those are smokin'! I would die if I saw ONE in the wild. Great shots and thanks for posting them.

Easier to breed 'em than to catch 'em, for me anyway !

...on their good fortune! Nice pics too. Nothing quite like that feeling of turning the right rock, and seeing that other-worldly flash of red. Kinda like a needle in the arm - you just want more !!
