I just fed my new suri a f/t mouse today, and was told by Barry Miller to feed every 14 days. I plan on doing this but was wondering what everyone else does in regards to suris.

he knows what he talks about. Most of the suriname guys do about that same thing (when it comes to keeping/breeding/feeding/etc). I feed every 10-14 days........
I agree with Barry. I purchased one from Barry not too long ago and he's doing great. I feed mine every 10 to 14 days. I prefer not too feed them anything that creates a big lump. However, that's only for my Boa's. My other snakes like my Burm, I feed every 7 days and usually a pretty good size rat. Again, listen to Barry. He knows what he's talking about.

I also feed my baby Surinams every 12 to 14 days. One must subdue the urge to overfeed both by too large of an item AND from feeding too frequently, even of smaller items. Especially when someone has one animal that they treasure, it seems that these people tend to want to feed, feed, and feed more.
Boas are FAR more easily overfed by our urges than underfed. More is not better. Fight the urge to overfeed and you will likely have an animal that rewards you by not gurging.
As babies, it is true, as a general rule, that Surinam BCC are MUCH MORE sensitive to both handling and heavier feeding as well as environmental stresses like having multiple cage mates.
My Peruvian BCC have seemed to NOT be as sensitive to these factors as the Surinams though.

Alot depends on what your plans are for the snake ? You want it to live a long healthy life ?Exceeding 10 years ? then go with a 14-21 day feed. Snakes(BCI/BCC) over 2 years IMO should be feed a good quality prey every 21 days and rotating to 28 days every 3rd feed.
Then again ....? if you want a snake with the overall physical condition of the average American in the USA then go ahead and POUND DOWN THE TWINKYS every 10 -14 days and freeze the poor critter in less then 15 years!

I purchased a female almost identical to your male. In fact I almost got your male but it was big bucks. Nonetheless I started her every 10 day and since then move her to every 7 days. She is doing fine and has never regurged. I do ALL my surinames like that. I have purchased from Rob Tudehope and he told me to feed them slow as well but I opt not to and he is also doing fine. I feed ALL my babies suris weekly and simply don't have a problem. I'm telling you what I do but am by no means the barometer on how you should keep your animals. You have some very different opinions so good luck.

mine rat pups and the meals are probably on the small side. They rarely make a lump in the animals.
I have a female. I think I am going to keep the feedings to every 14 days. I want her to live into their maximum life spans which is around 20yrs old.
Here she is:
