is this normal?

katie1120 Jul 10, 2003 11:31 PM

Today when i came home from work i didnt see my cal king in his cage so i figured he burried himself. When i opened the cage he seemed to drop outta no where, i was a little confused. Later that night when i went back into my room to check on him i saw he was in the rim of the tank and the cover. I was just wondering if there was a particular reason why he was doing this, maybe because the tanks not the right temp or he doesnt have a good place to sleep on the tanks floor - any thoughts?

Yes that is totaly normal. He just looking for a way out of the cage. Kings and milks are exscape artist, if there is a way out they will find it.
When I keep my snakes in aquariums they did the same thing .

There's your reason right there. It's a great hiding spot. My juvies all do it too.

Yep, that's normal. My king always does that. They are escape artists, that's for sure. I think they are also trying to hide, if there is no where else to inside the tank. No worries.
