Is it okay to have an undertank heater for a sav monitor? This is the one i am currently using.
Use a high temp basking spot, those make some surface heat, and thats about all.
I thought they were useful on the other hand because i shut of the light and the undertank heater raises the temp and also my sav like to dig under the soil and he could use the undertank heater to warm up and go to the other side of the tank to cool off.
Like any tool, they have a very useful application. I have and still use undertank heating for my monitors, particularly young ones.
Again like any tool, its more about understanding how the tool is used not just the tool itself.
In this case, if leaving the lites(only a heat source) on 24/7, bugs you(for any reason) then the use of heatpads, undertank heaters, flexwatt, etc, becomes a useful method to provide a nightime source of heat. Thanks FR
I used them before, to keep water supply temps up at night and for added heat if needed. You can use ceramic's(spelled right?) bulbs as well to get the same results too. Consider that the cords get broken off those things rather easy, i dont use them because of that
