Does anyone keep these? Any sites with info? Any books with info? Trying to find as much info as I can about the neat little snakes. Thank you!

Hi Katt,
You might want to check on the Boa or Rainbow Boa forums. I looked into them a year or so ago, but since they're usually wild caught, I decided to wait and see who had luck acclimating and breeding them. I haven't seen any books other than The Living Boas (I'm sure there are some on insular boas though). Here's a site to check out (found doing a search on Tropidophis and Hatian Dwarf Boas with Google).

There's not much out there, but there are some dealers selling them, so they should be able to provide basic care information. I hear hatchlings can be hard to get started and that the wild caught adults tend to be lizard/frog eaters.

Thanks for the link. I got that page on google myself, and there just doesn't seem to be much out there!!
I have myself a pair. The female has fed on a live pink mouse. I hope the male follows suit. They're supposed to be started on rodents and I have hope as one did already eat! They sure are beautiful li'l snakes.

Gorgeous little snakes- I agree! I wish you luck getting them both feeding on mice (hey- you already got one feeding so it should be smooth sailing from here). One of these days, I'll pick up a pair, but I've got to wait till all the other pairs of snakes I've already got start producing! Thanks for posting the pics, and do check out the Boa and Rainbow Boa forums. I feel sure there are some keepers who can share some of their experience with you.

I have kept several. Back in the 1970's you could get them for $10 each-they were way too common.
Almost all of them were strict lizard eaters. I kept them and the pair I have now on spagnum moss. They like misting about once a week ( water bowl)and temps in the mid-70's to mid 80's.
I have never bred these.
